Chamber of Commerce opens eco-friendly store in Pincher Creek

Have you ever seen a solar powered grasshopper jump? Want to build your very own mini eco-house? Like to see how a water powered alarm clock works? Now you can!

Pincher Creek and the surrounding areas are like no other. We have the view of the mountains, wide open spaces, and you can see the sky go on for miles. But we cannot forget the wind; it's almost abnormal for those of us who live here to experience days without wind. Some of us talk about how windy it is, while others find ways to take advantage of it. When you drive through the area you are almost surrounded by windmills. The Pincher Creek & District Chamber of Commerce thought, if the wind companies can take advantage of this amazing resource, why can't we?

'Wind Fun & More: Eco-Friendly Gifts' is the newest addition to Pincher Creek as of June 2011. This area is blessed with many resources that other areas lack. We have the bright sun for solar energy, dams and rivers for hydro power, and of course the wind for wind energy. This gift store takes advantage of all these resources. Solar powered toys, kites to help make the wind more enjoyable, water powered clocks for a little hydro power, as well as some involvement from local artists and much more! As the seasons change, so do the items in the store, bringing in gifts for any occasion.
